NFP has acquired Alan J. Zuccari Inc., doing business as Hamilton Insurance Agency, a property and casualty insurance broker and benefits administration provider based in Fairfax, Virginia.

Hamilton has focused on the senior housing and long-term care sector for nearly 50 years and is among the nation’s largest independent insurance brokerage firms serving those markets.

As part of the transition, Alan Zuccari, the agency’s president, CEO and founder, will serve as chairman emeritus. Joe Zuccari, executive vice president for life and health, will join NFP as a senior vice president, while Jason Zuccari will keep his managing director title and lead a new vertical at NFP.

All three executives will report to Ethan Foxman, president of NFP’s Atlantic region. In announcing the deal, Foxman said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Alan, Joe, Jason and the exceptional Hamilton team to NFP.”

Foxman said Hamilton’s work in senior living and long-term care “aligns perfectly with NFP’s vision.” He added that adding the team is expected to support “greater value and integrated solutions” for clients in the Washington, D.C., metro area and other markets.

Hamilton has served the D.C. metro area since 1982, providing insurance products, risk management services, benefits administration and related technology offerings. The company, led by members of the Zuccari family, has also maintained carrier relationships and developed insurance programs for its client base.

NFP also acquired Hamilton’s benefits administration technology, BeneLink Connect, as well as its risk management assistant tool, Electronic Risk Management Assistant.

The Hamilton acquisition follows other 2025 expansion moves by NFP, including its purchase of Bspoke Insurance Group in the UK, a platform of specialist MGAs, underwriters and distribution businesses.

That deal was aimed at building NFP’s position in the UK’s delegated authority market and widening access to specialist underwriting.

NFP has also continued to add specialty leadership in the US, including appointing Dave Roberts as senior vice president, surety, in its Northeast region.
