Two insurance brokerages have announced acquisitions as they expand their footprints in Georgia and Texas.
King Risk Partners has acquired Hanc Group, an insurance agency based in Alpharetta, Georgia. The transaction expands King Risk Partners' presence in the Southern market.
Hanc Group serves Georgia's Korean community with personal, commercial and employee benefit insurance solutions statewide. The agency has built its business on providing coverage options for both individuals and businesses.
"We are delighted to welcome Hanc Group to the King Risk Partners team," said Scott Popilek (pictured above, left), chief executive officer. He noted that Hanc Group has developed a reputation for service and client relationships, with a team that shares King Risk Partners' people-centered approach.
The partnership reinforces King Risk Partners' presence in Georgia and enables locally focused support, according to Popilek.
Rick Hanc, owner of Hanc Group, said the partnership provides new resources that benefit clients and staff. "We will be able to expand our personal and commercial insurance offerings while continuing to deliver the high-touch service and close customer relationships that have defined Hanc Group," he said.
In December, the brokerage also expanded its Midwest operations through the acquisition of Arnold Insurance Agency, an independent firm based in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Inszone Insurance Services has acquired Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates, Inc., a Dallas-based agency that has operated for more than four decades.
Don Medlin and Paul Scarbrough founded Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates in 1981. Rod Medlin joined the firm later and helped guide its growth.
The agency specializes in commercial property insurance, serving property management firms, association management companies and multifamily and mixed-use developments.
Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates also services school districts, electric cooperatives, oil and gas operations, contractors and restaurants and bars.
Alex Medlin, chief operating officer of Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates and son of Rod Medlin, said the firm sought a partner who valued people and expertise. "Inszone wanted to learn from us just as much as we wanted to learn from them, and that mutual respect made all the difference," he said.
Rod Medlin said Inszone demonstrated trust and transparency from the beginning. The firm invested in the team that built the agency, not just the numbers, according to Medlin.
Chris Walters (pictured above, right), chief executive officer of Inszone Insurance Services, said Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates has built trust through service, advocacy and accountability. "Their focus on people and relationships mirrors our own philosophy," Walters said.
The Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates team will remain in place to serve clients.
