King Risk Partners has expanded its Midwest operations through the acquisition of Arnold Insurance Agency, an independent firm based in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Arnold Insurance, which has operated for more than 40 years, provides construction insurance, small business insurance and personal insurance, among other services, throughout Ohio.
King Risk Partners CEO Scott Popilek said the acquisition strengthens the firm's presence in Ohio and enhances local support for clients. He noted that Arnold Insurance Agency's industry experience and client relationships reflect the qualities the firm seeks in partners.
Meanwhile, Mark Arnold, president of Arnold Insurance Agency, described the acquisition as an opportunity for both the team and clients. He said the partnership allows the agency to expand its personal and business insurance offerings while continuing its focus on client service.
The Midwest insurance market is experiencing rising premiums, particularly in homeowners’ coverage, due to more frequent severe storms such as hail, tornadoes, and wind events. States including Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska have seen sustained increases, driven by higher claims costs, inflation in construction and repair materials, and tighter underwriting standards.
Insurers in the region are adjusting risk models and rate filings, often imposing higher premiums or stricter coverage terms for high-risk properties. The market pressure affects both homeowners and small businesses, with some facing reduced insurer options or narrower coverage. These conditions have reinforced the importance of local brokerage expertise and tailored client service, aligning with King Risk Partners’ strategy to expand in the Midwest while providing localized support.
King Risk Partners has been on an acquisition spree in recent months. The firm acquired Stewart Agency, an independent brokerage operating for more than 75 years in Elmira and Corning, New York.
Meanwhile, in New England, King Risk Partners expanded its footprint through the acquisition of Acacia Insurance, an independent agency based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Acacia Insurance has served individuals and businesses across New England for more than 30 years, offering personal and commercial insurance products, including coverage for homes, vehicles, high-value assets, and various business risks. The transaction marked another step in King Risk Partners’ strategy to grow its presence in the broader Northeast.
