The insurance sector continues to see a wave of senior leadership moves, with appointments announced across claims management, field operations, retirement services, and marine underwriting.
Southern Marine brings claims in-house
Southern Marine, a program administrator within Starwind Specialty, has named Sharron West as head of claims. The move marks a strategic shift for the marine-focused administrator, which will now manage claims in-house rather than relying on a third-party administrator.
West (pictured above, left) brings more than 45 years of marine cargo claims experience across the London and US markets. Her career includes roles as a Lloyd’s broker, claims adjuster at the Lloyd’s Claims Office, and most recently, principal adjuster for Marine Insurance.
The appointment strengthens Southern Marine’s integration between underwriting and claims while providing brokers and carrier partners with greater transparency and responsiveness.
AmTrust names head of fields operations
AmTrust Financial Services has appointed Carl Canales as executive vice president, head of field operations for North American P&C. He will lead distribution strategy, revenue growth, and broker relationship management for commercial P&C products across the US.
Canales, who joins from Liberty Mutual, brings more than two decades of experience in small commercial and middle-market lines. AmTrust said his leadership will help accelerate innovation and strengthen its positioning in key lines such as workers’ compensation, BOP, and cyber.
Jason Crane to lead Lincoln Financial's retirement plan services
Lincoln Financial has appointed Jason Crane as senior vice president and president of retirement plan services, succeeding Ralph Ferraro, who is retiring later this year.
Crane (pictured above, right), who joins from Ascensus, has more than 25 years of experience in retirement distribution and business development, with previous leadership roles at Transamerica. Lincoln said his focus will be on driving growth across all retirement market segments, building on the company’s broader Workplace Solutions strategy.
Rokstone expands inline marine underwriting team
Specialty MGA Rokstone has bolstered its North American inland marine division with the appointment of Adrianna Allman and Charles Turgeon as senior underwriters, based in Boston and San Francisco.
Both join from AIG and bring strong expertise in inland marine trucking, a sector Rokstone described as “vast and underserved.” Their appointments follow two years of rapid growth in the company’s marine underwriting team.
