US carriers and brokers are strengthening their leadership ranks to enhance capabilities in emerging areas such as cyber coverage and specialty programs.

MSIG USA expands cyber leadership

MSIG USA has appointed Ryan Kratz (pictured, left) as head of cyber, North America, based in New York.

Reporting to Siobhan O’Brien, global head of cyber for MSIG USA, Kratz will lead the company’s expanding cyber practice, focusing on underwriting, product innovation, and risk management solutions tailored to evolving cyber threats.

Kratz joins MSIG USA from Ryan Financial Lines, where he was US practice lead for cyber and technology. He previously practiced insurance coverage law at Kissel Stratton & Wilmer LLP, representing US and international insurers in cyber liability, professional liability, and employment practices liability matters.

His experience spans both legal and underwriting domains, giving him a strong foundation for developing market-leading solutions and leading high-performing teams across North America.

O’Brien highlighted that Kratz’s combination of legal and underwriting expertise positions MSIG USA to better partner with brokers and clients in delivering innovative, resilient cyber solutions.
