Senior leadership changes have been announced across carriers, brokers, and insurance service providers, with new appointments at Liberty Mutual, ReSource Pro, Safety National, HDI Global, Marsh, and Xceedance reflecting ongoing investment in specialty underwriting, distribution, and AI‑enabled operations.
Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Rob Marsh (pictured, left) as president, Global Risk Solutions (GRS) North America Specialty. He will also continue in his role as president and chief agent of Liberty Mutual Canada.
Marsh joined Liberty Mutual in 2011 and has held a series of leadership positions. Since 2021, he has led Liberty Mutual Canada, delivering what the company describes as strong growth and profitability while promoting innovation and a people‑first culture.
“Our specialty product portfolio is a differentiated strength for Liberty Mutual, anchored in deep expertise, diversified capabilities, and a clear focus on helping clients and brokers navigate complex risk,” said GRS North America president Marc Orloff. “Rob is the right person to build on that foundation, with the experience and leadership to deepen our specialization and accelerate our momentum across North America.”
Xceedance has named Swapna Allapur (pictured, center) chief people officer, tasking her with leading the company’s global people strategy as it helps insurers embed AI and new technologies into core operations.
Allapur brings nearly three decades of HR leadership experience across multiple industries and geographies. She joins Xceedance from Everest Group, where she served as chief people officer for four years, aligning talent strategy with business priorities. She has previously held senior roles at Deloitte, Sun Life Financial, and other global organizations, leading large‑scale talent transformation initiatives tied to business growth and digital adoption.
Safety National Casualty Corporation has announced that Mark Wilhelm (pictured, right), chairman of the board of Safety National and international broker relationships leader for the Tokio Marine Group, has been selected to serve on The Council of Insurance Company Executives (CICE) Committee.
The Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers facilitates the CICE Committee to foster relationships among commercial insurance stakeholders and capture carrier perspectives on market and policy issues. The committee consists of six representatives of prominent commercial insurers and provides feedback on industry topics for The Council and its events.
The CICE Committee will meet at The Council’s 2026 Insurance Leadership Forum in October.
ReSource Pro has named Michael Costonis president of Insurance Business Services.
Costonis spent 26 years at Accenture, where he served as senior managing director and global insurance industry practice leader. He later moved into an operating role as chief operating officer at CNA. He then subsequently served as executive vice president and global head of marketing, strategy, and innovation at CNA.
“What drew me here was the chance to build something the industry genuinely doesn’t have yet,” Costonis said. “Most organizations today are forced to stitch together solutions across multiple providers, none of whom fully understand how their business operates end to end. The real value comes from integrating people, process, and AI into a model that learns, governs itself, and consistently delivers better outcomes.”
HDI Global has appointed Philip Beblo as head of property underwriting, effective May 1, 2026.
In the role, he will have overall responsibility for the corporate and specialty insurer’s worldwide Property Local Risk business, with a mandate to further develop and expand the portfolio internationally.
Beblo brings extensive international experience from senior roles at global carriers. Before joining HDI Global, he served as deputy manager international property at Everest Insurance and global practice group leader property at AGCS SE, where he supported profitable growth and helped strengthen property underwriting capabilities worldwide.
At HDI Global, he will work closely with Mark Mackay, global head of energy and power, and Franz Adamczyk, head of global risk property and consultant to the energy and power business. His brief includes strengthening underwriting excellence, governance, and global standards to support sustainable growth.
Marsh has expanded the role of long‑time finance chief Mark McGivney, who will assume additional responsibilities as executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective April 15, while continuing as chief financial officer.
McGivney joined Marsh in 2007 and has held a series of senior positions, including senior vice president of corporate finance, COO and CFO of Mercer, and CFO of Marsh Risk, before becoming senior vice president and CFO of Marsh in 2016. In his expanded remit, he will support Doyle and the Marsh executive committee in accelerating cross‑business strategy, lead the firm’s inorganic growth initiatives, and oversee execution of top priorities.
Separately, Marsh has appointed Janelle Griffith as global logistics practice leader for Marsh Risk, a newly created role in which she will spearhead the firm’s global logistics strategy.
Griffith brings nearly 20 years of experience in insurance brokerage, risk management, coverage law, and logistics operations. She joined Marsh in 2021 and currently leads its US and Canada logistics practice, which she will continue to oversee. Prior to joining Marsh, she held leadership roles at Kuehne + Nagel and Hapag‑Lloyd, gaining extensive experience in transportation risk and strategic transformation.
