History of Guy Carpenter
Guy Carpenter founded his company in 1922 and then proposed a merger with cotton insurance brokers Henry W. Marsh and Donald R. McLennan a year later.

Throughout the years, Guy Carpenter & Company LLC has delivered a combination of broking expertise, strategic advisory, and data & analytics services to help clients solve complex risk management challenges and achieve profitable growth.

The company became the first integrated analysis platform to support customers’ reinsurance and capital decisions. It is also the first to provide an analytic solution to manage potential risk accumulation in personal accident portfolios and an analytic tool that assesses the profitability of policies and entire portfolios.

 

Leadership at Guy Carpenter

Dean Klisura – president & CEO
Klisura is the president and CEO of Guy Carpenter and is a member of the Guy Carpenter executive committee. He also serves as vice-chair of Marsh McLennan.

Klisura was most recently president of Marsh Global Placement and Advisory Services, leading property and casualty placement activities globally, as well as heading Bowring Marsh, the Insurer Consulting Group and Marsh Advisory. He joined Marsh in 1993 and has held several key global leadership roles, including president of global specialties.

He holds a BS in Finance from Santa Clara University.
