Arch Insurance UK Regional Division has promoted Mark McGrady (pictured) to head of casualty – UK regional division, effective immediately.
Based in Glasgow, McGrady will lead the expansion of Arch’s casualty portfolio across its UK regional network, overseeing underwriting strategy, product development, and the distribution of casualty solutions, according to the company. He will report to Stuart Danskin, director of underwriting, UK regional division.
McGrady brings nearly 20 years of insurance market experience to the role. He joined Arch in 2022, most recently serving as liability underwriting manager – UK regions. Prior to that, he held commercial underwriting roles at Chapman and Stacey Limited, LV=, and Aviva.
Danskin said McGrady’s promotion reflects the company’ pursuit of underwriting complex casualty business.
“Mark’s promotion is testament to his proven leadership skills and strong technical expertise that have established him as a highly respected figure in the market,” he said. “His appointment reflects our continued commitment to underwriting complex casualty business, and he will drive the growth of our product-led liability portfolio, strengthening our presence by delivering innovative, customer-focused solutions.”
The appointment is the latest in a series of leadership moves at the division. In December, the division promoted four of its branch underwriting managers to newly created regional underwriting manager roles. Steve Barlow, Andy Coates, Peter Howard, and Paul Taylor took on responsibility for the Midlands & South West, London & the Home Counties, North & Scotland, and South & Thames Valley, respectively.
Those promotions themselves followed an earlier restructure in February 2025, when the division elevated Ian Grundy, Janice Mullan, Tony O'Reilly, and Janine Starkie to regional manager roles covering the Midlands & the South West, South & Thames Valley, London & the Home Counties, and North & Scotland.
