On February 18, the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner announced approval of auto insurance rate reductions for three Country Mutual Insurance affiliates operating in Georgia.

The approved filings reflect an overall 6% average indicated reduction across the three Country Mutual auto affiliates. Resulting premium savings total $7.52 million and affect tens of thousands of Georgia policyholders said Commissioner John F. King, adding the reductions demonstrate Georgia’s competitive insurance market.

The Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire characterized the approved rate reductions as an indicator market condition improvement and confidence growth among carriers in Georgia; Companies are increasingly able to adjust pricing to provide both customer relief and operational stability, said King. The Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire reiterated its mission as protecting Georgia families by providing access to vital insurance products and safe buildings through “fair regulation that creates economic opportunities for all Georgians.”
