Wright National Flood Insurance Company announced that its affiliate, Wright National Flood Insurance Services LLC, part of Arrowhead Programs, has agreed to acquire the assets of Poulton Associates LLC.

Poulton is recognized as one of the leading providers of private flood insurance in the United States. The transaction, which is expected to close in November pending certain conditions, is expected to make Wright Flood the largest flood insurance provider in the country.

Poulton Associates, based in Salt Lake City, operates the web platform www.CATcoverage.com and has been offering risk services since 1989. The company provides coverage through its National Catastrophe Insurance Program (NCIP) and other insurance products.

Blake Poulton, president of Poulton Associates, said the combination of the two organizations marks a significant milestone. “By bringing our complementary teams together, the future of flood looks ‘Wright,’” he said.

Wright Flood is known for its role as a provider of federal flood insurance and has operated in the sector for four decades. The company has focused on supporting agents and policyholders, particularly during claims.

Patty Templeton-Jones (pictured above), CEO and chief program advocate at Wright Flood, said that the organizations share a similar culture and commitment to comprehensive flood insurance.

“The combination of our teams will enable us to deliver greater value to our customers, while also increasing the number of properties covered by flood insurance,” Templeton-Jones said.

Arrowhead Programs, Bridge Specialty Group, and One80 Intermediaries were recently unified under a new parent entity, Arrowhead Intermediaries, as part of a broader restructuring in August. This move consolidated wholesale, program, and specialty insurance operations under a single organizational brand.

Arrowhead Intermediaries has also introduced a new leadership framework, with Chris Walker serving as chairman and Steve Boyd as CEO. The organization now oversees more than 7,000 employees and reported over $18 billion in premiums placed in 2024.

Arrowhead Programs, which is now led by Tom Kussurelis, manages one of the largest global insurance program portfolios through managing general agents (MGAs) and managing general underwriters (MGUs).

Wright National is one of the best flood insurance companies in the US for federal flood coverage, based on market share data. Learn more here.
