Renaissance, a network for independent insurance agencies, has announced the acquisition of the agency network business of Insurance Services of the West, LLC, which operates as Insurance Agency Network (IAN). Based in Washington, IAN represents more than 70 members and $400 million in premium volume.

“This acquisition expands Renaissance’s national footprint while strengthening the newly combined community,” said Robert Bondi, chief executive officer of Renaissance. “We are excited to deliver our products and services to more agencies seeking consistent, reliable growth.”

According to Renaissance, IAN members will now have access to the same benefits that help Renaissance agencies improve efficiency, increase revenue, and enhance profitability.

Michael Haller, chief administration officer of IAN, said the acquisition will open new opportunities for member agencies. “Renaissance provides our members with additional carrier/market access and increased profit share/enhanced compensation opportunities to expand their offerings and support their continued growth,” he said. “We are confident that this partnership will deliver significant value to the IAN network members.”

Craig Phair, chief operating officer of IAN, added that the merger aligns with the network’s vision. “Renaissance aligns with IAN’s mission to foster a community of thriving, profitable agencies,” he said. “Their platform empowers members to leverage premium volume and navigate the Independent Agent Road with confidence.”

IAN is the fifth agency network to join Renaissance since 2023, expanding Renaissance’s presence into 12 additional states. The company said the transaction reinforces its strategy of partnering with like-minded networks to broaden resources and support for independent agencies nationwide.

In September, Renaissance introduced a new suite of artificial intelligence tools. The first tool, Quote Compare, enables agencies to convert dense proposal documents into side-by-side, summaries in minutes - reducing time spent on manual review and comparison.
