Through a strategic collaboration with cybersecurity firm Accorian, Cowbell is rolling out a new compliance service designed to support businesses pursuing SOC 2 certification while expanding the scope of its Resiliency Services offering.

The new offering, Cowbell COMPaaSSM (Compliance-as-a-Service), targets startups, growth-stage companies, and service providers that handle sensitive customer data. The service is structured to assist clients working toward SOC 2 compliance in both U.S. and international markets.

Delivered via Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS) and powered by Accorian, COMPaaS includes gap analysis, risk assessments, penetration testing, policy and procedure development, audit preparation, and support from practitioners. Clients also gain access to a proprietary governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platform.

Accorian, headquartered in New Jersey, holds certifications and roles including HITRUST auditor, SOC assessor, PCI QSA, PCI ASV, and CREST-accredited provider. Its operations extend to offices in Canada and India.

Cowbell’s co-founder and chief product officer Rajeev Gupta said that COMPaaS supports organizations working to validate their security postures through structured, guided compliance processes. He added that the demand for SOC 2 alignment continues to increase across sectors.

“As SOC 2 compliance becomes increasingly critical for startups and global enterprises alike, our partnership with Accorian enables us to deliver a streamlined, high-touch compliance journey,” Gupta added. “Together, we’re helping organizations strengthen their cyber hygiene and readiness, validating security postures with confidence across the U.S.”

DFIR services and a new appointment

Alongside the launch of COMPaaS, Cowbell has added Joe Hoosech as principal for digital forensics and incident response (DFIR).

His role focuses on expanding Cowbell’s DFIR capabilities within CRS and providing technical support to policyholders affected by business email compromise and ransomware incidents.

Matthieu Chan Tsin, senior vice president and head of cybersecurity services at CRS, said Hoosech’s professional background in cybersecurity and ransomware negotiation will support Cowbell’s efforts to match incident response resources to the specific needs of each claim.

Founded in 2019, Cowbell offers cyber insurance and related coverages to U.S.-based businesses. Its offerings include cyber, technology errors and omissions, and management liability. Backed by more than 25 global (re)insurance partners, Cowbell provides policy issuance through an AI-powered platform.
