Cowbell, a cyber insurance provider focused on small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs), has expanded its product suite through a new collaboration with Zurich North America.

The two companies have launched Zurich Select Plus, a modular insurance offering that includes directors and officers (D&O), employment practices liability (EPL), crime and fiduciary coverages. The new product is available to US-based businesses through the E&S distribution channel.

The offering builds on Cowbell’s existing cyber and technology errors and omissions (tech E&O) products, marking a broader shift into management liability insurance. Policies can be accessed via Cowbell’s integrated API or its proprietary agentic email automation platform, which uses AI to streamline broker submissions by extracting and validating information from emails and attachments.

“This collaboration extends our ability to support SMEs with a broader set of insurance tools,” said Jack Kudale, founder and CEO of Cowbell. “Zurich Select Plus brings additional functionality to our digital platform, helping agents and brokers serve clients with more efficiency and speed.”

The launch follows Zurich Insurance Group’s $60-million Series C investment in Cowbell in 2023. Over the past year, the two companies have worked closely to expand digital access to insurance solutions for the SME segment.

“We’re pleased to offer Zurich Select Plus through Cowbell’s platform,” said Kristof Terryn, CEO of Zurich North America. “This initiative aligns with our broader goal of improving how small and medium-sized businesses access and manage risk coverage.”

Cowbell’s move into multi-line insurance also mirrors its expansion in the UK, where the company recently introduced a professional indemnity product tailored to the technology sector.

As insurers look to improve underwriting processes and streamline distribution, the use of AI-driven tools such as large language models has become central to Cowbell’s approach. According to the company, its automation platform enables faster quote delivery and more efficient submission handling.

Zurich Select Plus is now available to a select group of agents and brokers across the United States.
