MSIG USA has named Ron Morrison (pictured above) as chief claims officer, placing him in charge of the insurer's enterprise claims operations. He will report to chief executive officer Peter McKenna.

Morrison will lead claims strategy, operations, and technical quality, as well as litigation management and organizational development. The company said he brings decades of experience managing complex commercial and specialty claims organizations.

“Claims plays a defining role in how clients and brokers experience MSIG USA,” McKenna said. He added that Morrison recognizes that “effective claims management requires technical depth, consistency, and transparency, particularly in complex loss environments.”

McKenna said Morrison’s leadership is expected to support continued strengthening of the claims organization in line with the company’s underwriting objectives and relationships with clients and brokers.

“His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our claims organization in support of underwriting excellence and long-term partnerships with our clients and brokers,” McKenna said.

Before joining MSIG USA, Morrison held senior claims leadership roles at Great American Insurance Group. Most recently, he served there as divisional senior vice president with oversight of property claims and large-loss operations.

Earlier in his career, he held progressively senior positions at The Cincinnati Insurance Companies, where he managed high-exposure casualty and litigation claims. He also served as a complex claims specialist at Selective Insurance, focusing on sophisticated and disputed matters.

“Ron brings a clear point of view on the role claims should play in a specialty organization,” McKenna said. He noted that Morrison’s approach is “disciplined, data-informed, and focused on delivering outcomes that build trust over time.”

MSIG USA has also been adding leadership in other areas, including the appointment of Ryan Kratz as head of cyber, North America, in late 2025.

With cyber viewed as a key growth line, Morrison’s claims function is expected to intersect more frequently with complex technology, privacy, and ransomware losses emerging in the North American market.
