Lockton has announced multiple national leadership appointments across its US industry practices, expanding its sector-focused capabilities in transportation, energy, law, marine, life sciences, healthcare, and construction.

Matthew Payne (pictured above) has been named US transportation practice leader. Payne, who joined Lockton in 1998, most recently led the transportation and energy team for the firm’s region covering Kansas City, Birmingham, Des Moines, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Minneapolis, and Omaha.

Rob Hausler will serve as US energy practice leader. Hausler joined Lockton in 2018 as marine and energy practice leader for the Texas region, following more than 30 years in senior roles at insurance companies and brokerages serving the energy sector.

Eric Braverman has been appointed US law firms practice leader. Braverman joined the firm in 2024 as professional services practice leader for the Midwest region. His career includes roles as managing director at Aon, litigation attorney at Morrison Hecker, and other leadership positions over more than 35 years in insurance and law.

In the marine sector, Anita Farmer and Rob Cairo have been named US cargo and logistics practice leaders, while Jana Byron will serve as US marine risks and liability practice leader.

Farmer and Cairo, both with Lockton since 2018, previously co-led the marine practice for the Northeast region. Farmer has more than 30 years’ experience in cargo-related and specialty risks, while Cairo’s 25 years span multiple marine lines of business. Byron, a maritime attorney with over 27 years in protection and indemnity, joined Lockton in 2020 after serving as exclusive US representative for P.L. Ferrari, acquired by Lockton.

Additional appointments include Brad Zechman and David Salvucci as US life sciences practice leaders, Ethan Crain and Becky Cady as US healthcare practice leaders, and Paul Primavera as US construction practice leader.

Other appointments for Lockton

Alongside these practice leader appointments, Lockton has previously restructured parts of its US leadership.

Nick Serrault has been named US chief operating officer, moving into the role after nearly a decade leading its people solutions business in Texas and Louisiana, where he oversaw sustained regional growth.

Earlier this year, the firm created the role of US risk solutions leader, appointing Devin Beresheim to oversee a unified platform that integrates property & casualty with professional & executive risk services.

Sarah Downey succeeded Beresheim as US professional and executive risk practice leader, taking charge of broking, advisory, and claims services across major financial and professional lines.
