Several insurance and risk management firms have announced leadership appointments as they respond to shifting market demands.
Lockton has named Kelly Thoerig (pictured above, left) as its US directors and officers (D&O) and employment practices liability (EPL) product leader within the firm’s professional & executive risk division.
Thoerig brings two decades of experience in financial and professional liability insurance, including roles as a coverage attorney and executive.
Prior to joining Lockton, Thoerig spent more than 12 years at Marsh, where she held various senior positions, including managing director and leader of EPL and Wage and Hour coverage. She also led the FINPRO Claims Advocate Team.
DOXA Insurance Holdings has appointed Sean Curry (pictured above, centre) as executive vice president of its brokerage vertical. Curry is tasked with expanding DOXA’s product expertise and supporting growth in hard-to-place risks.
Curry joins from Kraft Lake Insurance Agency, a Farmers Insurance affiliate, where he oversaw brokerage and flood programs and helped drive the agency’s growth to nearly $1.2 billion in written premiums. He also led strategic partnerships and brokerage placements.
CRC Group’s Starwind Specialty Insurance Services has named Alex Bonds (pictured above, right) as co-president, a role he will share with Brian Norman.
Bonds will also continue as president and chief underwriting officer of CRC Insurisk, a division offering exclusive products through CRC Specialty producers.
The expanded role will see Bonds take on greater responsibilities in program development and platform coordination across Starwind. Based in Atlanta, he has more than 20 years of experience in underwriting and executive leadership, including positions in both the US and London markets.
Gilsbar has hired Seth Keown as senior benefits consultant as it looks to build on its position in the employee benefits market. Keown will support employer relationships and provide strategic guidance on benefits design and implementation.
He brings nearly 15 years of experience in the employee benefits sector and has a background in business administration. His previous work has focused on sales leadership and the development of tailored benefit programs.
