Two insurance industry firms have announced key leadership appointments aimed at strengthening their national and regional operations today.
The McGowan Companies has appointed Lauren Pitonyak as vice president of national programs. Pitonyak, who brings more than 14 years of insurance industry experience, will join Dogan Tuncel’s team and focus on expanding McGowan’s National Accountants Program.
Pitonyak’s background includes eight years at Aon Affinity in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, where she worked on the national accountants’ program from 2011 to 2019. She later joined Gallagher Affinity in Boston as an Account Executive, managing high-value premium accounts across both retail and wholesale platforms.
She is recognized for her expertise in accountants and attorneys Errors & Omissions (E&O) and cyber liability coverage and has participated in national conferences, building a reputation for industry knowledge and a client-centered approach.
Earlier this month, the company also tapped Shawn Chummar as a broker, focusing on cultivating client relationships, developing bespoke solutions.
In a separate move within the insurance sector, Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company has named Glenn Capps, Jr. (pictured above), GBDS, as regional sales director for Tennessee and Kentucky. Capps will oversee sales of the company’s workplace insurance products to brokers, enrollment partners, and customers in the region.
Capps has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held leadership and sales roles at organizations such as Horace Mann Insurance Company, Aflac, ABC Insurance Group, Great American Financial Resources, and Allstate Insurance Company.
He holds a Group Benefits Disability Specialist (GBDS) designation and is licensed with FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65. Capps also serves as a Registered Investment Adviser Representative and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tennessee Technological University.
In October, Boston Mutual also appointed Kevin Burchett as regional sales director for North Carolina and South Carolina.
