Several insurance and financial services organizations have announced leadership changes and new appointments across business segments, highlighting continued activity in executive recruitment and strategic positioning.
Marsh McLennan has appointed Bruce Broussard (pictured above, left) to its board of directors, effective immediately. The appointment brings the number of directors on the board to 12.
Broussard brings more than 30 years of experience in public and private healthcare organizations. He joined Humana in 2011 as president and served as CEO from 2013 until 2024. Prior to Humana, he was CEO of McKesson Specialty/US Oncology, having joined US Oncology in 2000 and held various leadership roles including CFO, president, CEO, and board chairman.
Broussard currently holds board positions at HP Inc., Cleveland Clinic, and One Call. He also serves with several advocacy groups such as The Business Council, the American Heart Association’s CEO Roundtable, and chairs the Board of Directors for the Trust for the National Mall.
In May, the global brokerage announced that its shareholders voted to elect all 11 previously nominated directors to one-year terms expiring at the 2026 meeting. The current board now includes:
MSIG USA announced the appointment of Philip Wray (pictured above, right) as head of property. Wray has over three decades of global property insurance experience and most recently served as executive vice president of property at the company.
He has held executive roles at Tokio Marine Global, Swiss Re, Lloyd's of London, Winterthur International UK Ltd., and Zurich.
In his new role, Wray will oversee the national property portfolio at MSIG USA. His responsibilities include underwriting strategy, product development, portfolio performance, and strengthening technical underwriting standards.
MSIG USA also recently expanded its ranks with the addition of Laura Meade as central region distribution leader.
Alliant Insurance Services has hired Cheryl Blake as senior vice president in its Employee Benefits Group. She is based in Georgia and will serve clients nationwide.
Blake brings experience in benefits strategy, compliance, and HR technology integration. Her previous roles include working with small to mid-sized employers across the US and supporting foreign-owned companies entering the market.
She also advises on PEO structures, 401(k) planning, and insurance compliance, and manages integrations of HRIS and payroll systems.
Before joining Alliant, Blake was a principal at a national business consulting firm. She holds a marketing degree from the University of Georgia and is a Registered Employee Benefits Consultant.
CRC Benefits has appointed Tim Perry as benefits sales executive to serve the New Jersey market.
Perry has 15 years of industry experience across medical and ancillary carriers and the brokerage space. He will be tasked with driving new business, supporting broker relationships, and advising across group segments.
Previously, Perry worked with a top 10 national brokerage and most recently at a national employee benefits firm, focusing on level-funded medical plans for small and midsize employers. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University and holds multiple state licenses in accident, life, and health insurance.
Broker Insights has named Brian McLaurin as senior vice president (US) of sales and account management, a newly created position.
McLaurin has 26 years of experience in software, insurance, and commercial real estate, including leadership roles at Insurtech firms. He was most recently senior director of strategic sales at Vertafore.
He will oversee expansion efforts in the US market and lead initiatives to help brokers and agents use the company’s VISION platform to increase placement efficiency and revenue generation. The platform currently analyzes several billion dollars in US premium income and more than 40% of the UK’s commercial gross written premiums.
Group 1001 has promoted Michael Bloom to chief legal officer. He will retain his role as chief legal officer and secretary of Delaware Life Insurance Company, the group’s primary operating company.
In the expanded role, Bloom will lead legal and compliance operations for Group 1001’s Life & Annuity business and oversee shared legal services and government affairs. He will also supervise compliance across the group’s other insurance businesses: property and casualty, health, and specialty.
Bloom joined the company nearly 26 years ago and has served as Delaware Life’s chief legal officer and secretary for the past 12 years. He previously held leadership roles in Sun Life’s US Law Department before Delaware Life was acquired in 2013. Bloom began his legal career at Murphy & King and Sherin and Lodgen in Boston.
He holds degrees from Bentley University, Suffolk University Law School, and an LL.M. from Boston University School of Law. He is a past chair of the Association of Life Insurance Counsel’s Securities Section.
