Howden has appointed Ron Borys as head of its financial lines group in the US, further strengthening its growing retail operation in the market.

Based in New York, Borys will lead the development of Howden's financial lines practice, delivering solutions across financial institutions, executive liability and cyber risks.

In this new role, Borys will join the Howden US leadership team under CEO Mike Parrish and work closely with Adam Codrington, global practice lead for financial lines.

Borys’ experience will be central to advancing Howden’s financial lines capabilities, providing risk solutions for clients with complex, multinational exposures. His work will align with the firm’s global specialty structure, supporting cross-border collaboration and access to niche expertise.

Borys joins Howden from Alliant Insurance Services, where he led the financial institutions industry practice, advising clients on program design, brokerage, and risk advisory services. His earlier career included senior roles at Marsh and Aon, where he gained extensive experience serving major financial institutions and corporate clients.

Howden said Borys’ appointment demonstrates its ability to attract market talent as it continues to build its US retail business from the ground up. His expertise in financial lines is expected to play a key role in delivering solutions and strengthening client outcomes.

Under Parrish’s leadership, Howden has been actively expanding across the US through senior hires and strategic growth initiatives. The company has invested in key practice areas such as property, casualty, and specialty risk, aiming to create an alternative broking model that combines local agility with global resources.

Sarah Hughes, head of specialty global practices, said Borys’ experience would enhance Howden’s global financial lines offering and deepen its advisory strength across markets.

Borys will assume his new position following the completion of contractual obligations.
