Three companies announced charitable partnerships in late October, with CVS Health boosting customer donations for hunger relief, Heritage Insurance honoring first responders, and Globe Life expanding its food bank partnership.
CVS Pharmacy customers contributed more than $3 million this year to support local food banks through an in-store fundraising campaign. CVS Health increased its overall donation to Feeding America and separately committed over $2 million in 2025 to address food insecurity. Every dollar raised went directly to a local food bank within the Feeding America network. Since 2020, in-store campaigns have generated more than $60 million for Feeding America, according to a news release.
“Food insecurity is a complex issue that looks different in every community – there’s no one-size-fits-all solution,” said Jenny McColloch, vice-president of sustainability and community impact at CVS Health. “Thanks to our customers, we’re able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of millions of people in America through our in-store fundraising campaign.”
CVS Health said, since 2024, has awarded over $4 million in grants to organizations addressing food insecurity. Recipients include Feeding America, which received $500,000 for Meal Connect, a food rescue platform, and Community Servings, which received $235,000 over two years for the Food is Medicine Accelerator program.
Globe Life Inc. announced a three-year partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, providing $75,000 to sponsor a Produce Pod mobile pantry that delivers up to 20,000 meals weekly to underserved communities.
“We deeply value Globe Life’s partnership and commend their team for providing hope and help to our community,” said Maurice Wilson II, chief operating officer, North Texas Food Bank. “For more than a decade, Globe Life has supported our mission, helping us deliver more than one million meals to North Texans facing food insecurity.”
Since 2014, Globe Life and its employees have contributed more than $360,000 to the North Texas Food Bank. In 2024, the company, its agents, and employees collectively donated more than $7 million to nonprofit organizations nationwide.
Heritage Property & Casualty Insurance Company celebrated National First Responders Appreciation Day by recognizing Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. The company sponsored the department’s annual Firefighters Gala and participated in the inaugural Honorary Firefighters program.
In September, Heritage CEO Ernie Garateix and associate vice-president Butch Delgado joined the first Honorary Firefighters class, performing training drills and learning fire service duties.
“It was an incredible experience to see what these heroes do up close,” said Garateix. “Being part of the honorary firefighters gave us a deeper appreciation for the courage, discipline, and heart it takes to protect our community.”
