Amwins has announced a leadership transition within its legal department, with deputy general counsel Molly Shah (pictured above, left) set to become general counsel effective Jan. 1, 2026.

Current general counsel Donna Hargrove (pictured above, right) will move into a new role as senior advisor.

Shah joined Amwins in 2019 and has focused on labor and employment matters. Her responsibilities have expanded in recent years to include broader legal oversight across the company. She also serves on Amwins’ Diversity & Inclusion Council and is a steering committee member of the firm’s Women’s Leadership program.

Hargrove has served as general counsel since joining Amwins in 2008. During her tenure, she played a role in supporting the company’s expansion strategy and overseeing legal aspects of transactions. She will remain with the company in 2026 in an advisory capacity to ensure continuity.

CEO Scott Purviance said the transition has been planned in advance. He described Shah as a natural fit for the position, citing her legal expertise and leadership contributions to the organization.

"We couldn't be more confident in her ability to carry the torch. She embodies our values and brings incredible legal knowledge, a thoughtful leadership style, and a clear sense of purpose to our legal team. We are excited about the future under her leadership,” Purviance said.

The legal transition follows a broader reshuffling of Amwins’ leadership structure in the United States. In December, Amwins named Ben Sloop as group president and chief operating officer.

Sloop, who has been with the company since 2005, previously led Amwins Access and held the role of Group COO.

Amwins also announced that David Lavins took over as chief financial officer beginning July 1. Lavins previously served as president of Amwins Access, where he led revenue growth and regional expansion efforts.

With Lavins moved to the CFO position, Amwins also announced that Nathan Mathis stepped in as the new president of Amwins Access. Mathis is responsible for continuing the Access division’s momentum across the US market and aligning its operations with broader company strategy.
