Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has announced the acquisition of a new Wholesale team from Lockton, led by Shelley Wright, as part of its effort to strengthen its London Market capability.
According to a news release, the move extends SRG’s specialist proposition across its businesses, including Miles Smith, CBC Partnership, and The Underwriting Exchange (TUE).
The team will work with UK retail brokers to provide solutions across property, casualty, and financial lines. According to SRG, the team’s integration with Miles Smith will create a combined unit to enhance the group’s wholesale offering.
SRG said the acquisition supports its strategy to develop its specialist capability across the insurance value chain and expand its presence in the London Market. The company noted that the new team brings experience in technical placement and risk management.
“We are delighted to welcome Shelley and her team to SRG. Their deep broker relationships and multi-line specialism represent everything we are building in our Wholesale division,” said Lee Anderson (pictured), group deputy CEO at Specialist Risk Group. “This is another step in our ambition to create the leading independent wholesale platform for UK brokers.”
Wright said the move reflects shared priorities between both firms. “We’re looking forward to joining SRG at such an exciting time in its journey,” said Wright. “From the outset, it was clear that this is a business that understands and values specialism. Bringing our team together with Miles Smith under one roof creates a powerful proposition for UK brokers looking for smart, responsive London Market access across property, casualty, and financial lines.”
Clarissa Franks, head of retail at Lockton, said the decision aligns with Lockton’s business focus.
“We are continually reviewing our strategy and portfolio to drive client innovation and growth. SRG is a strong and well-respected business that makes the perfect new home for this team and the clients they serve.”
