The Bspoke Group and Specialist Risk Group have announced major leadership shakeups as both firms continue to grow their respective businesses.

Bspoke Group CEO

The Bspoke Group has appointed Ryan Gill (pictured above, left) as chief executive officer. The move follows Bspoke’s recent acquisition by NFP, and is intended to support the group’s expansion strategy.

Gill, who previously served as chief commercial officer, succeeds Tim Smyth. Smyth will take on the role of deputy chair, where his focus will shift to the group’s strategic direction and the opportunities arising from the NFP partnership. Gill will also join the NFP executive leadership team for the UK and Ireland. Craig Hunter will continue as chief operating officer.

Bspoke has introduced a dedicated retail division, which brings together Police Mutual, Forces Mutual, Bspoke Lifestyle, Bspoke Private Clients, and the insure-tech business Arma Karma. The new division aims to provide a unified proposition to customers and partners.

Kerry McMahon-White has been named retail managing director and will continue in her role as managing director of Police Mutual. Additional leadership changes within the retail division include Andy Talbot, who will join as retail operations director in September, following his previous role at Gallagher.

Adrian Ewington, formerly managing director of Bspoke Private Clients, will become retail underwriting director. Stuart Bromley is set to become managing director of Bspoke Private Clients.

“This is a natural progression for the business and an exciting step as we enter a new chapter. Bspoke has experienced substantial growth in recent years, and I’m delighted that Ryan has agreed to take the helm,” Smyth said.

Smyth also said that his own focus will be on maintaining clear direction, supporting leadership teams, and sustaining momentum during this period of transition.

Specialist Risk Group CCO

Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has appointed Sasa Brcerevic (pictured above, right) as its group chief commercial officer, a newly created position effective from November 1.

Brcerevic joins SRG after serving as managing director, carrier solutions group at Aon. His career includes roles as a technologist, management consultant, chief operating officer, and commercial business leader, with experience spanning start-ups, multinational corporations, technology firms, carriers, and broking.

The appointment follows the recent recruitment of Neil Nimmo as SRG UK CEO, reflecting the group’s continued investment in leadership to support its growth ambitions. SRG said that it is positioning itself as a specialist insurance group with a focus on people, culture, and relevance in the market.

Group CEO Warren Downey described the chief commercial officer role as pivotal to SRG’s scaling efforts and noted that Brcerevic’s experience in technology, broking, carrier, and consulting gives the group “exactly the edge we want: sharper insight, faster execution and a stronger operating rhythm across geographies and product lines.”

SRG has also been active in expanding its specialist capabilities through acquisitions and appointments. The group recently acquired motorsport insurance specialist James Hirst and his team from James Hallam Ltd, bringing expertise in on-track accident damage, liability, personal accident, event cancellation, and other complex motorsport risks.
