Several firms across the insurance sector have announced leadership changes and strategic hires spanning underwriting, marine, and corporate strategy functions.
Pen Underwriting has added two professional indemnity underwriters to its Birmingham office as part of its regional expansion strategy.
Raman Nahal has joined as senior PI underwriter, bringing more than 15 years of financial services experience. She spent the past decade specialising in PI and specialty commercial risks, most recently serving as development underwriter in Hiscox's Midlands team since 2018.
Jazz Parkash has also been appointed PI underwriter. She has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience, having held PI-focused roles at Lockton, Giles Insurance Brokers, and Wesleyan before joining Tokio Marine HCC as development underwriter in 2023.
Both joined Pen as part of its multi-disciplinary team serving regional brokers across the Midlands.
Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) has appointed Tracy-Lee Kus, CEO of Aon's Global Broking Centre, to its board of industry leaders.
Kus brings more than 30 years of experience in underwriting and broking. She was recognised by Insurance Business Asia as one of its Elite Women in 2024.
The campaign reached its initial £10m fundraising target last year, having launched in 2017. IUAD has now set a new goal of raising £20 million by 2030.
The organisation's eighth annual Insurance Day for Dementia brought together more than 3,000 colleagues worldwide. The event raised over £430,000, marking another record-breaking total.
Skuld has appointed Charlotte Valentin (pictured above, left) as senior vice president and head of Skuld Piraeus, effective March 1. Valentin had served as interim head of office since October 2025.
Leandros Kotsakis will remain away from the office for an extended period due to health reasons. Valentin previously served as vice president and head of claims and FDD in Piraeus.
She has been with Skuld since 1999, working across its New York and Piraeus offices. Kjell-Åke Augustsson will retire on 28 February 2026 as previously announced.
Following his departure, Thea Thorstensen, senior vice president of business development, will support Valentin on underwriting activities in the Greek market.
MNK Group has appointed Matthew De Jesus (pictured above, right) as chief strategy and development officer to lead group-level strategy and M&A activities.
De Jesus has more than a decade of experience in commercial strategy, including roles as operating partner at Talis Capital and chief commercial officer at Voxelmaps.
He will oversee global M&A ambitions and work with group functions to implement technology across operations.
HIVE Underwriters has appointed two senior practitioners to its new marine specialty underwriting team, with both hires effective July 2026.
Alistair Marriott will join as head of marine from Everest Insurance, where he served as deputy head of marine and head of cargo, international. Jared Short will join as head of transportation and logistics from Markel International, where he was senior underwriter for logistics, ports, and terminals.
Both will work alongside Nick Lewis, who joins as marine chief underwriting officer in July 2026 to lead the buildout of HIVE's marine underwriting operation.
