Several companies across the insurance and financial services sectors have announced new senior appointments this week, marking notable shifts in leadership roles at Capco, Brace Underwriting, Markel International, Addresscloud, and Coverdrone.
Markel Insurance has appointed Rohan Davies (pictured top) as managing director of its newly formed London Market business. The company said Davies will oversee teams across marine and energy, PFR, and cyber, and specialty lines. He will report to Andrew McMellin.
McMellin said Davies’s “deep expertise in the London Market and a strong track record of driving performance across complex, global portfolios” positioned him well to lead the new business unit.

Addresscloud has appointed Peter Thompson (pictured immediately above) as non-executive chair to support its international expansion. Thompson, who also chairs Open GI, will guide governance and strategic growth as the company scales demand for its building-level risk intelligence technology.
CEO Mark Varley said Thompson’s experience across broking and insurance technology made him “the ideal chair for our next stage of international growth.”

Coverdrone has strengthened its global expansion plans with the appointment of industry veteran Richard Webb (pictured immediately above), who brings nearly four decades of experience in underwriting, claims, and business development.
Webb said drones are “transforming industries across the globe,” adding that Coverdrone’s responsiveness positions it strongly for continued growth.
Andrew Heath, director, said Webb’s expertise would support the company’s international ambitions. “Richard understands the importance of combining technical expertise with a genuine service ethos, values that are fundamental to Coverdrone,” he said.
Capco has appointed Zoe Hodge as a partner in the UK, focusing on accelerating the growth of its insurance and wealth & asset management practices. Based in Scotland, she brings extensive experience in consulting, financial services strategy, and client platform transformation, according to a news release. She previously held roles at Johnston Carmichael, Aberdeen, and Standard Life, as well as spending nearly a decade at Accenture.
“We are delighted to welcome Zoe to the UK partner team,” Matt Hutchins, UK co-managing partner, said. “She joins us at a critical time for the financial services industry, with new technologies including agentic AI opening up truly transformative opportunities to reimagine how our clients do business, manage risk and meet customers’ evolving expectations around advice and service.”
Brace Underwriting has named Nick Rock as underwriter, bolstering its multi-line and alternative risk portfolio. Based in London, Rock will report to senior underwriter Mike Davis.
Rock joins from Aspen, where he worked across delegated authority business covering property, cyber, casualty, and transactional liability. His earlier career included roles at Tokio Marine Kiln, Guy Carpenter, and Travelers.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Nick to the team. His strong connections and deep understanding of the MGA landscape will be vital as we continue to strengthen and build long-term collaborative partnerships with our brokers and clients,” said Davis.
