IUA expands secretariat with underwriting and claims appointments
The International Underwriting Association has added two staff members to its underwriting and claims team.
Meanwhile, James Walker joins as underwriting and claims technician after graduating from Lancaster University.
Texel appoints head of restructuring
Texel Group has created the role of head of restructuring, appointing Rhys Davies (pictured, centre). He brings experience from AXA XL in political risk, credit and bonds claims, and a legal background from Kennedys.
Davies will work with the broking and claims teams to deliver specialist advice on policy management during debt restructuring and complex credit and political risk scenarios.
Altea Insurance expands underwriting team
Altea Insurance has appointed Chloe Archer (pictured, right) as an underwriter, reporting to CEO Carly Matson.
Archer, previously with CFC Underwriting, brings expertise in UK and international healthcare insurance, underwriting, and delegated authority business. Her role strengthens Altea’s technical capability and support for brokers across its multi-class healthcare portfolio.
CFC names chief underwriting officer

CFC, the specialist insurer and cyber market leader, has appointed Nick Line (pictured immediately above) as chief underwriting officer. Line joins from Markel International, bringing global leadership experience, an actuarial background, and expertise managing multi-billion-pound portfolios.
Line's role will focus on leading underwriting teams to support CFC's growth strategy. He succeeds Matt Taylor, who had been interim CUO since February 2025.
YuLife names CEO

YuLife, an AI-focused insurtech combining health and insurance, has appointed Tal Gilbert (pictured immediately above) as CEO, succeeding founder Sammy Rubin.
Gilbert’s experience spans global insurance, employee benefits, and digital health. He will lead the rollout of Yunity, YuLife’s AI intelligence layer, enhancing early intervention and risk management for insurers, advisers, and employers.
UIB strengthens energy & construction team
UIB has appointed Ray Spreadbury as head of renewables and divisional director – downstream.
Spreadbury has over 30 years of experience in energy insurance, including offshore wind, LNG projects, and battery energy storage. His role supports clients navigating complex insurance and risk management needs in renewable and downstream energy markets.
