Several insurance and reinsurance firms have announced appointments across claims, underwriting, and broking operations.
Arch Insurance has named Ángel Gándara Bonaechea (pictured above, left) as claims manager for third-party lines at Arch Insurance (EU) dac (AIEU), effective immediately.
In the role, Gándara Bonaechea manages AIEU claims across Iberia, covering lines including cyber, casualty, and executive assurance.

Liberty, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Kevin Demmon (pictured above, right) to the newly created position of property divisional director, effective March 19.
Demmon is based in London and reports to Henry Nelson, CUO and active underwriter for UK and MENA.
The role gives Demmon responsibility for the UK commercial and D&F international portfolios. He will oversee the development and delivery of underwriting strategy, in addition to managing the strategic goals for Liberty's UK and MENA property divisions.

Ki, the algorithmically-powered Lloyd's digital follow platform, has appointed Helen Rios (pictured immediately above) as active underwriter for Syndicate 1618, effective March 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Rios has served as underwriting director for Ki's casualty division since the platform's formation in 2020.
Ki said Rios played a role in building out the casualty division and broader underwriting function since joining in October 2020. She reports to Mark Allan, CEO of Ki, and joins the firm's executive committee.
She previously held underwriting roles at Brit, Liberty, and RMS.

BPL, the independent credit and political risk insurance (CPRI) broker, has appointed Edouard Huberdeau (pictured immediately above) as director as part of an expansion of its global capabilities. Huberdeau will work across BPL's Geneva and Paris offices, developing solutions for clients across the credit insurance spectrum, including surety.
He brings 25 years of experience, with his most recent role being chief financial officer at Alvean Sugar SL, described as the world's largest sugar trading company. There, he was responsible for financing strategy, risk management, and financial transformation.
Prior to Alvean, Huberdeau worked in UBS's commodity trade finance team in Geneva, heading the energy and soft commodities desks and overseeing the creation of the bank's credit insurance desk in 2012.
He also served on the Paris management team for BNP Paribas's commodity trading activity, following his time at Crédit Lyonnais.
