In newly announced insurance moves, Angelica Solutions expands its specialist network, while Amiga Specialty strengthens leadership in financial lines.
Angelica Solutions adds Matt and Katherine Goldsmith
Angelica Solutions has expanded its network of insurance collaborators with the addition of Matt (pictured above, left) and Katherine Goldsmith (pictured above, centre).
The pair bring more than 35 years of combined experience in pricing and underwriting across motor, home, travel, and commercial vehicle insurance. Their previous roles include positions at insurers such as AXA, Allianz, eSure, and Swiftcover.
Katherine's background covers claims modelling, commercial pricing, data strategy, MI reporting, and technical underwriting.
Meanwhile, Matt contributes technical expertise in building and maintaining rating engines using Radar and Python, as well as in automating testing and deployment through CI/CD pipelines. As an ISTQB professional familiar with cloud technologies, he has supported pricing transformation initiatives across international teams.
Matt said that he and Katherine had long respected the way Sarah Vaughan and her team operated, noting that their approach is driven by a desire to produce good work. He said joining the associate network felt like a natural step and that he looked forward to collaborating with a team experienced in delivering quality outcomes.
Founded in 2019 by Vaughan, Angelica Solutions provides industry expertise and practical solutions for insurers and MGAs.
Amiga Specialty appoints managing director
Amiga Specialty has appointed Jamie Ricketts (pictured above, right) as managing director, financial institutions.
In the newly created role, Ricketts (pictured) will establish the product line, define its strategic direction, and work with brokers and clients to deliver effective service and returns. He reports to group managing director Adam Kembrooke and will be based in London.
Kembrooke said Ricketts’ appointment brings experience and market presence that position Amiga and its product offering strongly in the market. He added that Ricketts has strong broker relationships and a proven ability to grow new business and build profitable portfolios for carrier partners.
Ricketts previously held senior roles at AXIS and was most recently managing director, financial institutions, at Nexus Underwriting. He joins Amiga during an important phase of its development and is focused on building the financial institutions product line, adding that he looks forward to contributing to a business with significant growth ambitions and a skilled, committed team.
Amiga Specialty launched in May 2025 and has since expanded its financial lines and transactional risks operations in the UK and Hong Kong through several senior appointments.
