Aon plc has announced several senior leadership changes within its commercial risk division in EMEA, aligning with the firm’s broader 3x3 Plan aimed at regional growth and capability development.
Paul Young (pictured above, left) has been appointed specialty leader for EMEA. In this newly defined role, he will oversee sector teams covering natural resources, transportation & logistics, and construction & infrastructure.
Young, who has spent 15 years at Aon, most recently led the firm’s natural resources business in the region. He will now be responsible for coordinating the broader specialty practice groups across EMEA.
Chris Chadwick (pictured above, middle) has been appointed transportation & logistics leader for EMEA. He joined Aon in 2012 and has led the protection & indemnity (P&I) team within the Global Broking Centre in London.
In his new position, Chadwick will focus on expanding the global logistics practice into Europe, targeting growth in selected markets and collaborating with the London-based GBC to integrate the aviation and logistics portfolios across the region.
David Brining (pictured above, right) has joined Aon’s EMEA natural resources team as regional director for power & renewables. He previously served at National Grid, where he held the role of group head of insurance and claims. Brining brings 25 years of industry experience, including responsibilities for risk strategy, captive insurance development, and coverage solutions for both onshore and offshore energy infrastructure.
Luca Tassarotti, head of commercial risk for EMEA, said the firm’s ability to promote internal talent demonstrates the depth of its leadership pool.
“Paul, Chris and David will play instrumental roles in delivering integrated solutions to the EMEA region, and I’m excited to see the impact of their leadership and expertise in driving our business forward,” Tassaroti said.
Aon’s 3x3 Plan is a strategy which includes a US$1 billion investment announced for 2024. The firm said this capital will be allocated toward building advanced analytical tools, expanding client capabilities and streamlining operations across its risk capital and human capital segments.
Within the commercial risk division, the investment is intended to strengthen advisory and placement solutions across key geographies including EMEA.
Among the initiatives supported by the 3x3 Plan is Broker Copilot, a proprietary digital platform launched by Aon to help structure and analyse broker submission data. The tool allows brokers to access real-time pricing trends, carrier appetite, and placement performance insights.
In addition, Aon introduced a Data Centre Lifecycle Insurance Programme that combines coverage for multiple exposures – such as construction, cyber, and liability – into a single solution. The programme is backed by Aon’s cyber risk modelling and analytics teams, and is targeted at clients in the fast-growing global data infrastructure sector.
