Nicola George, managing director of Allianz Personal Broker, will leave the business in October to pursue a new opportunity. George (pictured) joined Allianz last year and led the launch of Allianz Personal Broker into the UK personal lines market. She has since overseen initiatives to streamline broker interactions and strengthen the foundations of the business for future growth.
Until her departure, she will continue working on projects for Allianz Group. The company has confirmed that Graham Wright will take over leadership of the Personal Broker team on an interim basis while the search for a permanent successor is under way. Allianz UK CEO Colm Holmes said George played a key role in establishing Allianz as a personal lines brand and building strong broker relationships. He added that service levels for brokers would remain unchanged during the transition.
The move comes as insurers continue to compete for broker partnerships in a highly competitive personal lines market, where operational efficiency and service delivery remain key differentiators.
Other insurers have also seen recent leadership changes within their broker-facing divisions. Aviva reshuffled parts of its personal lines distribution leadership earlier this year to strengthen regional broker engagement, while RSA has been adjusting its broker relationship strategy following its integration into Intact. LV= has also made senior changes in its intermediary business as it refocuses on service delivery and digital capabilities.
For brokers, continuity will be a key concern during the transition. Industry observers note that interim leader Graham Wright’s familiarity with the broker leadership team could help ensure stability and limit disruption.
However, with ongoing margin pressures in personal lines and continued competition for broker partnerships, Allianz will face pressure to maintain momentum and reassure its intermediary base that its personal lines strategy remains on course.
