Gallagher Re has appointed Jennifer Wen (pictured above) as executive director for its Taiwan team. Wen brings over 30 years of experience in the reinsurance treaty markets, with a background that includes work in both Taiwan and Guam.

In her new position, Wen will be responsible for leading the growth and expansion of Gallagher Re’s business in Taiwan. Gallagher Re said that she is expected to leverage her expertise and established market relationships to support the company’s strategic objectives in the region.

Prior to joining Gallagher Re, Wen served as senior vice president at Guy Carpenter & Co. She has extensive experience in reinsurance treaty negotiations and client management. Wen holds a master’s degree in economics from the University at Buffalo and earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from National Tsing Hua University.

Gallagher has also made key leadership appointments in its Middle East operations this year. In September, the company named Ryan Witchard as executive director for its Middle East & Africa Marine practice.

Based in Dubai, Witchard oversees marine insurance solutions, including shipping, cargo, hull, and machinery risks, and works closely with the firm’s Specialty Marine team in London. Witchard joined Gallagher from Marsh, where he held broking roles in both London and the Middle East.

In addition, Gallagher appointed Andy Winwood as senior executive for its Middle East and Africa operations. Winwood, who brings more than 35 years of industry experience, is responsible for overseeing business activities in the region, with a focus on large accounts, market engagement, and business development.

Gallagher Re’s parent company, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has also been active in expanding its operations this year. Last month, the firm acquired Bremer Insurance Agencies, a property and casualty insurance broker based in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The acquisition is part of Gallagher’s broader growth strategy, which has included more than 150 acquisitions since 2020, and is expected to strengthen the company’s retail brokerage network and client reach across Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
