Gallagher Re has appointed Alexander Georgetti, ACCA (pictured above), as executive director for its Specialty Lines UK team. In this new position, Georgetti will oversee the production and placement of credit, surety, and political risk business for both UK and global clients.
Georgetti brings experience from his previous role at Aon, where he served as a credit and financial risks reinsurance broker for more than four years. His responsibilities at Aon included structuring and placing reinsurance solutions for credit and financial risk exposures, working with a range of clients in London and internationally.
Prior to joining Aon, Georgetti worked at Tokio Marine Kiln as a senior financial analyst. His tenure there lasted five months, during which he contributed to financial analysis and reporting for the specialty insurance segment.
Before that, he spent over five years at Liberty Specialty Markets, holding several roles including financial planning and strategy analyst, FP&A accountant, and financial performance and analysis accountant.
Georgetti’s educational background includes an ACCA qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a certificate from the Chartered Insurance Institute, and a first-class honors bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of the West of England. He also holds a foundation diploma in shipping from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and a foundation degree in mechanical engineering from Loughborough University.
Elsewhere, Gallagher recently completed its acquisition of AssuredPartners, a deal valued at US$13.45 billion. The transaction expands Gallagher’s capabilities in commercial property/casualty, specialty, employee benefits, and personal lines across the US, UK, and Ireland.
As part of the AssuredPartners integration, Gallagher approved $316 million in equity awards for 572 former AssuredPartners employees who joined Gallagher. The company said this plan is designed to retain talent and support growth in key practice groups, with a portion of the awards vesting immediately and the remainder over several years.
Gallagher Re has also made other senior leadership appointments recently, including naming Emily Apostolides as head of casualty for North America and Mark Braithwaite as North America chief commercial officer.
