Gallagher Re has appointed Emily Apostolides (pictured above) as head of casualty for North America, a role she assumed this month. Apostolides is responsible for leading casualty strategy and client engagement in the region.

She joins Gallagher Re from Lockton Re, where she was senior broker for five years and co-headed US casualty and financial lines. Before that, she spent over 14 years with Willis Re as executive vice president.

Apostolides began her career following a degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006.

Additionally, Gallagher Re has also named Dave Brune as executive vice president in its program solutions team. Brune will lead the development and execution of the US programs strategy, serving carriers and managing general agent clients.

Gallagher Re has undertaken a series of recent leadership appointments across its global operations. Jason Bolding was named CEO of Gallagher Securities, aligning efforts to strengthen insurance-linked securities platforms, while Bill Dubinsky was appointed Chairman in parallel.

In London, Ben Lyon joined Gallagher last month from a legal background to lead capital advisory and serve as CEO of Gallagher Securities UK, focusing on institutional capital access.

Anna Dill was appointed executive vice president for US large‑account property and casualty, transitioning from Howden Re to oversee large-risk origination and client advocacy.

Internally, Lisa Duncan ascended to senior vice president for North America program solutions, positioning her to lead program business growth across carriers and MGAs.

In South Africa, Riaan Botes was named regional director based in Cape Town, charged with expanding Gallagher Re’s regional footprint.

Meanwhile, in London, Thomas Dubecq assumed the role of head of international regional retro, setting retrocession strategy across EMEA, Asia, and Latin America, following the retirement of long-serving chairman James Vickers.
