Aon plc has appointed Simon Chisholm (pictured above) as chairman of Asia for its reinsurance solutions business, effective Jan. 1, 2026.
In this new role, Chisholm will oversee the global clients segment for the Asia region, focusing on strengthening relationships with key clients in Japan and Thailand.
Chisholm brings nearly 40 years of experience to the position, including leadership roles supporting Aon’s largest global reinsurance clients. He has worked across markets in Asia, Europe, and the United States, aligning client needs with strategic solutions.
Rupert Moore, APAC CEO for reinsurance solutions at Aon, said, “Simon plays a central role on our Japan and Asia teams, partnering with many of the region’s largest insurers to deliver client value and support better decision-making.”
Moore also said that Chisholm’s experience and knowledge of both Asia and global markets make him a natural fit for the role, and that the appointment demonstrates Aon’s ongoing commitment to building talent and expertise in the region.
Based in Singapore, Chisholm will report to Soeren Soltysiak, CEO of reinsurance solutions in Asia.
The appointment comes amid a series of leadership changes at Aon’s reinsurance solutions division. Earlier this month, Aon named Nick Nudo as the US casualty segment leader for Reinsurance Solutions. Nudo is responsible for developing Aon’s casualty reinsurance strategy, focusing on product innovation and integrating market insights with client requirements.
Also this month, Aon appointed Anshuman Srivastava as global chief broking officer for reinsurance, based in London. Srivastava’s responsibilities include aligning reinsurer capacity with evolving client needs and leveraging advanced data and analytics to support capital solutions for clients.
In September, Aon named Josh Carson as Dallas business leader for reinsurance. Carson is tasked with overseeing regional operations as part of the firm’s US integrated strategy, bringing nearly two decades of experience in property and casualty treaty reinsurance broking.
