Aon has appointed Josh Carson (pictured above) as Dallas business leader for reinsurance, effective September.

Carson will be based in Dallas, Texas, and will oversee Aon’s reinsurance operations in the region as part of the firm’s US strategy to deliver integrated solutions across all client segments.

Carson brings nearly two decades of experience in property and casualty treaty reinsurance broking. Before joining Aon, he served as executive vice president and Dallas branch manager at Gallagher Re, where he led the Dallas office from December 2021.

His previous roles include executive vice president at Willis Re, now part of WTW, and senior underwriter at DGU Insurance Associates in Las Vegas. Earlier in his career, Carson was assistant vice president at Guy Carpenter in New York and a reinsurance analyst at Collins and Associates, with experience spanning Dallas, Minneapolis, and New York City.

He holds a bachelor of business administration in risk management and insurance from the University of Louisiana Monroe.

Aon stated that Carson’s appointment aligns with its 3x3 Plan, which emphasizes collaboration across all client segments and regions. The company said Carson will work closely with teams throughout the US to support Aon’s unified approach to client service and program business.

Carson’s appointment comes as Aon continues to build out its reinsurance leadership team in the US and globally. Earlier this month, Aon named Nick Nudo as US casualty segment leader for its Reinsurance Solutions division. Nudo, who has more than 20 years of experience in broking, underwriting, and product development, is tasked with developing Aon’s casualty reinsurance strategy and integrating market insights with client requirements.

In addition, Aon appointed Anshuman Srivastava as global chief broking officer for reinsurance. Srivastava, based in London, is responsible for aligning reinsurer capacity with evolving client needs and leveraging advanced data and analytics to support capital solutions.

Aon has also expanded its actuarial modeling and technology capabilities. In September, the company hired Chulan Zhan as senior consultant in the Reinsurance Strategy and Technology Group (STG) – Modelling team within Aon Life Solutions, based in Singapore. Zhan will lead the development and business growth of PathWise, Aon’s actuarial modeling platform.
