The Baldwin Group has entered into a partnership with Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation to expand its embedded insurance distribution within the residential mortgage market.

Under the agreement, Fairway will launch Fairway Home Insurance Agency, an affiliated insurance unit that will integrate home and personal coverage into its mortgage process beginning in the second quarter of 2026. The companies described the arrangement as an embedded partnership that leverages Baldwin’s existing insurance distribution infrastructure.

Fairway originated more than 67,000 loans in 2024, ranking as the sixth largest independent mortgage lender in the United States. The company operates more than 345 branch locations nationwide and employs over 10,000 people, giving the new insurance agency broad geographic reach once it launches.

As part of the collaboration, insurance products will be introduced during mortgage origination and home sale transactions. Baldwin will provide its proprietary technology platform, access to national insurance carrier relationships, and industry expertise to support the rollout of Fairway’s affiliated agency.

According to David Lazowski, president of growth at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, the embedded structure allows insurance options to be presented within the lender’s existing customer process.

“Through our partnership with The Baldwin Group, Fairway will be able to provide our customers with access to competitive insurance solutions backed by industry-leading technology and expertise. This is about delivering real value where and when our customers need it most,” Lazowski said.

Baldwin said its embedded insurance platform has also been used with other national mortgage and real estate partners to integrate insurance offerings into their systems.

“We’re excited to partner with Fairway to bring enhanced insurance solutions to their customers. This collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting mortgage lenders and their customers with the tools, technology and access to insurance carriers they need to navigate today’s complex insurance marketplace. By integrating insurance into the homebuying process, we’re helping make homeownership more accessible and affordable,” said David Smith, president and executive operating officer of Mainstreet Insurance Solutions at The Baldwin Group.

The partnership supports Baldwin’s broader strategy of growing its distribution through embedded insurance services, including acquisitions such as Obie, which focuses on real estate-related insurance.
