Gallagher Bassett expands safety and risk capabilities with Safe T buy

Mergers & Acquisitions

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has announced that its claims and risk management subsidiary, Gallagher Bassett, has acquired full ownership of Safe T Professionals LLC, a Chandler, Arizona-based firm specializing in environmental, health and safet (EHS) management and staffing services.

Gallagher Bassett previously held a minority stake in the company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Safe T Professionals provides safety management and consulting services to clients across the construction and manufacturing sectors, with a strong presence in the Southwest and Western US. Founders Anna and Joshua Martinez, along with their team, will continue to operate under the leadership of Jim Bond, executive vice president of Gallagher Bassett North America.

The acquisition enhances Gallagher Bassett’s ability to deliver end-to-end risk management and safety consulting solutions, strengthening its position in industries where workplace safety is both a regulatory requirement and a key business priority.

In the US, the workplace safety and risk mitigation industry has grown steadily amid heightened regulatory scrutiny, talent shortages in high-risk sectors, and rising costs linked to occupational injuries and compliance failures.

According to US Bureau of Labor Statistics data, private industry employers reported over 2.8 million nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses in 2024, driving increased demand for outsourced EHS expertise and on-site safety management. Construction and manufacturing remain among the most safety-critical sectors, whose firms are turning to external partners to manage complex risk profiles and evolving Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

By acquiring Safe T Professionals, Gallagher Bassett deepens its capacity to support clients through tailored EHS programmes, risk assessments, and staffing solutions designed to reduce incident rates and enhance operational resilience.

J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., said the acquisition underscores Gallagher Bassett’s ongoing focus on helping clients build a “resilient culture that supports long-term success.”

The move aligns with Gallagher’s broader strategy of expanding its risk prevention and advisory services, following a series of acquisitions aimed at integrating claims administration with proactive safety and compliance solutions across North America.
