Alliant Insurance Services has expanded its transportation specialty platform nationwide through a series of acquisitions and senior-level hires, reinforcing its presence in cross-border transportation risk management in South Texas and continuing its growth throughout the state.
The company acquired Texas Insurance Agency in Laredo, a major hub for international trade, which specializes in cross-border trucking risk and insurance. Alliant also acquired McAfee Insurance Agency in Mabank, a provider of insurance services in East Texas.
The expansion is part of Alliant Transportation’s ongoing strategy in Texas, focusing on cross-border transportation risk and integrating technology-based solutions with risk management to improve outcomes in complex markets.
In addition to these acquisitions, Alliant has strengthened its regional expertise by hiring Nader Dabboussi in Dallas and Jordan Lewis in McAllen. Dabboussi brings more than 20 years of risk management experience in the cross-border public transportation sector.
Lewis focuses on comprehensive insurance and risk solutions for trucking and transportation companies operating in South Texas and cross-border regions. Both hires utilize telematics, analytics, and technology platforms to enhance clients’ risk profiles through data-driven insurance solutions.
“The new office locations and key hires in South and East Texas align with Alliant’s growth strategy in the state,” said Michael Cusack (pictured above), executive vice president of Alliant Specialty.
Cusack noted that the expansion strengthens the company’s position in providing strategic risk management insight to the transportation industry and leverages technology platforms to address the complexities of international brokering.
“Alliant is a key strategic partner with the primary objective to empower businesses across the transportation supply chain with tailored insurance solutions that align with their growth and operational goals, even in the most challenging markets,” said Lisa Paul, executive vice president of Alliant Transportation.
Earlier this month, Alliant appointed Mark Koontz as executive vice president and national director of voluntary benefits for its Employee Benefits Group. Koontz, who brings over 30 years of experience in voluntary benefits, will focus on expanding Alliant’s offerings in this area and will be based in Chicago.
Also this month, Alliant added Kevin O’Donnell as vice president in its Employee Benefits Group. O’Donnell, who will be based in New York, has a background in employee benefits consulting and specializes in working with large employers and complex plan design.
