Specialty Program Group LLC (SPG) has acquired ANOVA Marine Insurance Services, a South Florida-based managing general agency specializing in cargo, logistics, transportation, liability insurance and bonds.

Founded in 2011, ANOVA has developed a presence across the Americas by offering tech-enabled underwriting and responsive claims handling for clients including freight forwarders, brokers, shipping lines, customs brokers and international trading companies. The company’s global correspondent network and proprietary platform have contributed to its growth in the marine and logistics insurance space.

ANOVA will continue operating under the leadership of founder and president Bradford Boyd, who began his insurance career in Buenos Aires at age 17. Boyd said the partnership with SPG would support the firm’s expansion while preserving its core values of specialised underwriting and flexible claims service.

“Joining SPG allows us to scale faster while staying true to the values that built ANOVA—original underwriting, nimble claims, and versatile coverage,” Boyd said. “With SPG’s support and expansive distribution network, we’re well-positioned to bring our technology-driven approach to a broader set of clients and broker partners.”

To help support this expansion, ANOVA has added several industry veterans to its leadership team. Andrew Voke has joined as senior advisor.

With more than 40 years of experience, including roles at Chaucer Syndicates and Marsh, Voke is expected to contribute to strategic growth and market engagement. Erin Boll has taken on the role of director of underwriting, bringing over two decades of experience in logistics insurance, most recently as SVP of Logistics at DUAL North America.

Meanwhile, Anthony Clark, formerly assistant vice president at DUAL North America, is now associate director of underwriting and will focus on expanding ANOVA’s domestic freight portfolio. Logan Pearce, who previously served as associate counsel at Falvey Underwriting, has joined as head of claims and recoveries and will oversee claims operations across the firm’s growing book of business.

ANOVA will retain its independent operations under its existing leadership, with further appointments expected as it continues to scale under SPG’s ownership.
