Starwind Specialty Insurance Services, a CRC Group company, has announced a leadership change at JH Blades, a key business within its specialty platform.

Richard Martin has retired after leading JH Blades for several years.

Graham Jenks (pictured above) has taken over leadership of JH Blades, effective March 1, 2025. His new role includes oversight of JH Blades Energy, JH Blades Marine, Southern Marine and Energy Technical Underwriters. Jenks had served as president of Southern Marine for the past eight years and brings operational and industry experience to the expanded position.

Commenting on the appointment, Jenks said: “I am honored to take on this leadership role and excited to work closely with our talented teams and industry partners. Together, we will continue to build on the strong foundation of our marine and energy expertise as we strive to deliver exceptional service to our clients.”

The company said it remains focused on strengthening operational capabilities and supporting its distribution partners through leadership development and service improvements.

In a separate move, Starwind appointed Joe Jones as executive senior underwriter for Starwind Transportation earlier this year. Jones brings more than 20 years of experience in trucking and high-hazard insurance lines. He most recently led a fleet underwriting team at a trucking-focused Insurtech firm.

Starwind also recently launched four insurance programs, namely Starwind Environmental, Starwind PVT, Starwind Equipment and Starwind Cannabis. The programs aim to provide retail brokers with tailored coverage options.

Starwind Environmental is being led by Mike Padula; Starwind PVT is being supervised by Chris Kirby; Starwind Equipment is headed by Randi Glazer, and Starwind Cannabis is being managed by Tony McIntosh.

“These new program launches exemplify what makes Starwind Specialty so powerful within the CRC underwriting family,” said Bill Goldstein, CEO of CRC Underwriting. “Starwind’s specialist teams understand their industries inside and out, enabling them to craft smarter, more effective coverage solutions that drive results for our clients.”
