Specialty Program Group LLC (SPG) has announced the consolidation of its wholesale businesses under a single division, SPG Wholesale.
The consolidation brings together Monarch E&S, Beacon Hill Associates, Specialty Wholesale Insurance Solutions (SWIS), Capitol Special Risk, and JDM & Associates under the SPG Wholesale brand.
According to the company, the unified division will leverage the expertise and carrier relationships of each legacy business, while offering expanded specialty market access and support through shared knowledge and increased scale.
“This move isn't about letting go of what made these companies special – it's about taking the collective expertise and relationships and putting them to work in a more unified, accessible, and collaborative way,” said Chris Treanor (pictured above), CEO and president of SPG.
Treanor emphasized that the consolidation aims to simplify market engagement and provide brokers with greater access to SPG’s collective resources.
The legacy brand names will no longer be used independently, but SPG noted that their contributions remain integral to the foundation of SPG Wholesale. “Stronger Together is who we are – that's foundational," Treanor said. "Aligned for the Future is how we move forward. We're unifying not just names, but the value, expertise, and relationships that fuel long-term success for our partners.”
In addition to the US consolidation, Specialty Program Group Canada Inc. (SPGC) recently announced a strategic amalgamation with Totten Insurance Group Inc. and Anderson-McTague & Associates earlier this year. This merger combined five underwriting brands and one claims management brand under the SPGC banner, creating a national platform in Canada with 500 professionals and expanded resources for brokers and clients.
SPG also expanded with the acquisition of Total Benefit Solutions, LLC (TBS), a Bellevue, Wash.-based insurance brokerage specializing in group health insurance for small- to mid-sized businesses. The acquisition is part of SPG’s expansion strategy in the group health insurance market.
