James River Group has named Georgia Collier (pictured above, left) and Matt Sinosky (pictured above, right) to its excess and surplus (E&S) leadership team.
Collier, who brings more than 20 years of E&S market experience, returns to James River after serving as managing director and product line leader for Markel Group’s nationwide Commercial Primary Casualty division. She previously spent nearly two decades at James River, overseeing several underwriting units. Collier will be based in Richmond.
In her new capacity as senior vice president, a newly created position at James River, Collier will lead the Specialty underwriting division. She will be responsible for planning and executive oversight of six sub-divisions: Allied Health, Energy, Environmental, Life Sciences, Management Liability, and Professional Liability. Her mandate includes maximizing profitable growth and strengthening the company’s relationships with brokers across these lines.
Sinosky joins from Arch Capital Group Ltd, where he was vice president of wholesale distribution and managed wholesale initiatives across six business units. He has more than 15 years of experience in insurance distribution, with a focus on the wholesale channel.
As vice president of business development and distribution, Sinosky will direct James River’s wholesale channel strategy. He will work with wholesale brokers and oversee marketing and distribution efforts to support the company’s growth objectives.
Previously, the company announced that Todd Sutherland, who was senior vice president of management liability within the E&S division, has been promoted to president of the segment. Following this transition, the CEO title for the segment was retired, with Sutherland reporting directly to CEO Frank D’Orazio.
Both Collier and Sinosky will report to Sutherland in their new roles.
“I am excited to welcome two dynamic industry leaders to James River that will complement our existing team and increase our ability to win for our clients,” Sutherland said. He added that Collier and Sinosky bring a history of portfolio management, underwriting, and industry relationships within the small and medium enterprise sector.
