Everest has named Pamela Guerrero (pictured above) as head of wholesale casualty for Everest Evolution, its US wholesale business.
In her new role, Guerrero will lead the excess and surplus (E&S) primary and excess casualty, industry specialties, and environmental units. She will report to Stephen Buonpane, president of Everest Evolution.
During her time at AIG, Guerrero developed and implemented national training programs that spanned liability, claims, and underwriting disciplines. She also underwrote complex casualty programs for AIG’s Dublin, Ireland operations, gaining international experience that has contributed to her expertise in casualty insurance.
Buonpane said Guerrero has demonstrated a strong record in casualty underwriting and has experience leading both regional and national teams.
“Her deep understanding of the wholesale distribution channel, combined with her strong underwriting acumen and proven leadership in building sustainable business portfolios, makes her a tremendous asset to our team,” Buonpane said.
Everest Evolution was launched in September 2024 as part of the company’s move to address increasing demand in the E&S lines market. The E&S sector has seen significant growth, representing about 10% of the total US direct insurance premium, according to industry data.
Everest Evolution was established to capitalize on the growth of the E&S market, which surpassed $100 billion in premiums written in 2023.
The company has also strengthened its executive leadership across Everest Evolution by naming other key heads to support the business. These appointments include Matt Meserole as head of excess casualty, Adam Birch as head of industry specialties, and Cristin McCarthy as head of excess construction.
