Alliant Insurance Services has launched Cyber Response One, a dedicated hotline designed to help clients navigate the immediate aftermath of a cyber incident, as rising ransom demands and shifting attack methods reshape the threat landscape for businesses across the United States.

The service provides access to cyber specialists who offer guidance on incident management, policy coverage, notification steps, third-party panel providers, and security control remediation. Alliant described it as a concierge-style offering that draws on the firm's consulting, claims, brokerage, and advisory capabilities.

CJ Dietzman (pictured above), senior vice president at Alliant Cyber, said the hotline addresses the disorientation that typically accompanies a cyber incident.

"There can be tremendous confusion, stress and ambiguity in the critical moments following a cyber event - when immediate response is essential, and time wasted can have major implications in the business's ability to recover," Dietzman said.

He added that Cyber Response One is intended to simplify the process for clients and ensure they follow proper protocols, including those related to cyber insurance policy coverage.

The service arrives at a time when the cost of cyber threats is climbing. Coalition's 2026 Cyber Claims Report found that initial ransom demands surged 47% year-on-year in 2025, while ransomware remained the most expensive claim type, averaging $269,000 per loss.

Despite the escalation, a record 86% of businesses refused to pay ransoms in 2025, according to the same report. The shift suggests organizations are increasingly turning to incident response services and insurance coverage to manage a cyber incident rather than meeting attacker demands – a trend that underscores the market Alliant is targeting with the new hotline.

Jay Stampfl, managing director at Alliant Cyber, said organizations facing a cyberattack must make high-stakes decisions under pressure while coordinating multiple response efforts at the same time.

"Cyber Response One offers a streamlined process and fully integrated approach to engaging with subject matter experts, enabling clients to respond to new and unforeseen challenges in an accelerated manner when the stakes are high," Stampfl said.

Alliant Cyber operates across cyber insurance brokerage, security, incident response, coverage and claims, resilience, governance, and compliance. Cyber Response One gives clients access to an independent team of specialists during crises, with the aim of positioning businesses for recovery and long-term resilience.
