Zurich North America has appointed Chuck Kaiser (pictured above) as its new chief communications officer, effective May 27.
He will be based at the company's North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois, and will report to Zurich North America CEO Kristof Terryn.
In his new role, Kaiser will oversee the development and implementation of Zurich's communications strategy across the United States and Canada. His responsibilities will include managing the company's internal and external communications and supporting efforts to align Zurich’s brand positioning with its broader business goals in the North American market.
Kaiser joins Zurich with over 25 years of experience in corporate communications. His previous roles include senior leadership positions at Vela Capital Management LLC, Edelman, Motorola, and Allstate Corp.
At Vela Capital Management, he served as chief marketing and communications officer, where he managed marketing, business development, and thought leadership initiatives.
Kaiser holds bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has also held board positions with the Metropolitan Planning Council in Chicago and the Mizzou Alumni Association. He frequently participates in industry discussions focused on business trust and communications.
The appointment follows a series of leadership updates within Zurich North America. In recent months, the company named Heather Fox as head of US national accounts and Peter Caminiti as chief underwriting officer.
Fox, who joined Zurich in 2023 as chief underwriting officer, has over 25 years of experience. Caminiti, meanwhile, has been with Zurich since 2014 and was most recently head of underwriting for US national accounts.
In other recent developments, Zurich North America also named Tobias Cushing as head of construction. Cushing returns to the construction team after serving as deputy chief underwriting officer. He also previously served as head of construction at The Hartford.
