USAA has purchased a new, larger office space at 1341 Crossways Blvd. in Chesapeake. This strategic acquisition is set to become the foundation for a planned expansion that will add more than 500 new jobs over the next two years.
According to a news release, the nearly 200,000-square-foot facility, located just a five-minute drive from USAA’s current Chesapeake operations, represents a substantial upgrade in capacity and amenities. The move is designed to enhance the work environment for employees and improve service delivery as USAA continues to serve its more than 14 million members.
Randy Termeer, president of USAA property and casualty insurance group, underscored the importance of the new facility. “It is crucial that USAA has the space and facilities to ensure employees can continue to deliver the exceptional service members expect and deserve,” Termeer said, noting the company’s addition of 1 million new members last year.
Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, the company operates in eight US cities and three overseas locations, employing over 38,000 people globally.
USAA’s new office is designed with modern features to support both employee well-being and specialized training. It will include a cafeteria and other dining options, a fitness center, and a market. The facility will also house a robust claims technical training center, equipped with vehicles on-site for hands-on learning.
In addition to the new office’s features, USAA offers Total Rewards benefits that include competitive pay, health and wellness benefits, parental benefits, and retirement matching.
“USAA is honored to be a part of Chesapeake’s community and to serve the military families who call this region home,” Termeer said. “Our new facility will allow us to remain a top employer in the Hampton Roads region for dedicated teammates and to consistently deliver exceptional value to our members.”
USAA plans to begin working in the new Chesapeake space in March 2026.
