Retail insurance brokers in the US are facing new demands as the insurance landscape evolves. Their responsibilities now extend beyond arranging coverage, requiring them to address risk management, market volatility, and client advisory needs – but who are the best in the business?
Insurance Business America (IBA) has identified its 5-Star Retail Brokers for 2025, focusing on professionals who have demonstrated notable business expansion.
The brokers selected for this year’s list reported an average increase of 39% in commission revenue over the past year.
Each broker on the list generated at least $1 million in premium revenue during 2024, with at least half of that amount coming from commercial property and casualty (P&C) accounts.
IBA’s annual Top Retail Brokers list, now in its 11th year, recognizes brokers based on a nomination process and a review of business performance.
For the 2025 edition, nominations were accepted beginning in February.
To qualify, brokers needed to show at least $1 million in premium revenue for 2024, with 50% or more from commercial P&C, and demonstrate year-over-year revenue growth from 2023.
Nominees provided detailed business data for assessment. Brokers reporting more than $4 million in premium revenue for 2024 were awarded the Platinum Retail Broker title.
The brokers highlighted by IBA were noted for their ability to combine technical knowledge with market insight and strategic planning. Their work includes developing risk transfer solutions and helping clients navigate changing insurance markets.
