Renaissance, a national network of independent insurance agencies, has added the Armor Group to its growing platform.
The move strengthens Renaissance’s presence in Upstate New York.
The Armor Group is a collective of 11 independent insurance agencies based in the Rochester and Buffalo areas, collectively representing about $35 million in written premium. Founded in 2012, the group offers a wide range of personal and commercial insurance products, including auto, home, life and business coverage.
Through the affiliation, Armor Group agencies will gain access to Renaissance’s suite of business tools and technology support while maintaining their independence. These include placement services, expanded market access, carrier relationship support, and data-driven tools aimed at improving agency operations.
“The members of the Armor Group are focused on consistent, reliable growth, placing them very much in alignment with Renaissance’s vision for agency success,” said Robert Bondi, chief executive officer of Renaissance. He added that the Armor agencies were drawn to the network’s resources, including business intelligence tools and improved contract stability with carriers.
Paul Chisholm, co-founder and president of the Armor Group, said the partnership allows the group to modernize operations without compromising agency autonomy.
“We’re pleased that Renaissance will be able to provide us the tools and technology needed to take us into the future, while allowing each of our member agencies to remain independent,” Chisholm said. “In the agency network space, that is a unique proposition.”
Renaissance continues to pursue a strategy of providing support and scale to growth-oriented independent agencies. The partnership with Armor Group marks another step in expanding its national footprint through collaboration with like-minded agency networks.
