The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) has named Rick Pierce (pictured above) the chair of PIA Partnership, its national carrier advisory council.
Pierce, director of Agency Engagement and Development at National General Insurance, an Allstate company, will serve a one-year term through June 2026. He succeeds Brad McCreedy of The Hanover Insurance Group.
The PIA Partnership is composed of representatives from leading national and regional carriers. Established nearly 30 years ago, the group develops tools, resources and programs aimed at supporting the independent agency channel.
Its initiatives include Thinking Bigger, a video interview series designed to introduce new business ideas; Winning@Talent, which focused on recruitment and retention; and Winning@Work, which addresses workplace culture and generational engagement.
Pierce brings decades of industry experience, particularly in agency distribution and development. In his new role, he will help guide the Partnership’s priorities and continue collaboration with PIA National and its affiliates.
“PIA Partnership members work together to provide competitive—and needed—expertise and programs for agents. We collaborate with PIA National and its affiliates to bring together tools and resources focused on running an agency and making the business successful,” said Pierce.
“National General knows that robust and inspired independent agents are key to growth and profitability for our company. We are eager to support the Partnership’s efforts with the knowledge and resources we have.”
Mike Skiados, CEO of PIA, said Pierce’s long-standing involvement with the Partnership and industry background make him well suited for the role.
“Rick’s passion for independent agents and his track record of collaboration make him a perfect fit to lead The PIA Partnership,” said Skiados. “He’s been a significant contributor to The Partnership for many years, helping tackle critical issues like client retention, operational efficiency, and succession planning.”
The association also acknowledged McCreedy’s contributions and service as Chair during the past year.
