The Council for Disability Income Awareness (CDIA) has announced that Munich Re Life US and KME Insurance Brokerage have joined the organization as new members.
Munich Re Life US, a subsidiary of Munich Re Group, operates in risk assessment and reinsurance, with a focus on the US life and disability insurance sectors. The company is involved in digital transformation initiatives and works with carriers to adapt to industry changes.
“Munich Re Life US is excited to partner with the CDIA, given strong alignment in our joint mission to establish disability income as a key financial safeguard, not just for the highly compensated but for every working American,” said Jinnah Cox (pictured above, left), vice president of group and living benefits at Munich Re Life US.
Cox said that the company looks forward to collaborating with the CDIA and direct carriers to “drive change, expand insurability, and grow the disability income market.”
KME Insurance Brokerage, a firm specializing in individual life, disability, and long-term care insurance, also joined the CDIA. The company provides solutions for independent insurance and benefit producers and has experience in the corporate disability market.
"KME Insurance Brokerage is excited to partner with the CDIA," said Steve Heney (pictured above, right), principal at KME Insurance Brokerage.
Heney noted that individual disability insurance is important for both individuals and highly compensated executives to protect their incomes. “The CDIA is at the forefront of educating the public and insurance producers on the need for disability income protection,” he said.
The CDIA has also welcomed other notable members from the insurance industry in recent months. In December 2024, Unum Group joined the CDIA, with the company highlighting its commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities and promoting awareness around disability issues.
In November 2024, The Plus Group, Inc. became a member of the CDIA, marking the first time a coalition of independent Brokerage General Agencies (BGAs) has aligned with the Council.
